Alan Taylor built a lifelong career around his passion for sports, working in sports public relations and marketing and developing relationships across the industry. But what defined Alan just as much as his professional accomplishments was his genuine interest in people and his willingness to share what he had learned with others.

Later in life, Alan became deeply involved with Florida Atlantic University through its adult education programs. His connection to FAU eventually brought him back to the his beloved world of sports when he began mentoring graduate students in FAU’s MBA in Sport Management program. He took great pride in getting to know the students, hearing about their ambitions and offering the perspective and encouragement that came from a lifetime in the industry.

Alan believed strongly in hard work, relationships and helping young people find their way. Even well into his later years, he remained curious, engaged and eager to contribute.

The Alan Taylor Memorial Scholarship for Sports Management & Mentorship was established by his adoring family in his memory to support graduate students pursuing careers in the sports industry. Through this scholarship, Alan’s enthusiasm for sports, education and mentorship will continue by helping the next generation of sports professionals pursue their goals.
