The new Florida Atlantic license plate will be available beginning in spring 2025. The plate will only be available in Florida. Check back here for updates on the exact date. You can also complete the interest form on this page, and we will reach out via email as soon as the plate is available.
With each plate purchase, Florida Atlantic receives $25. This fee goes directly towards supporting student scholarships.
Each year you keep your Florida Atlantic branded plate, the university will continue to receive $25 per year for scholarships.
The previous version of the Florida Atlantic license plate is still available at your local DMV for a limited time. Once the new license plate is available for purchase, the previous version will no longer be available.
The current version of the Florida Atlantic license plate is still valid. You only need to replace your license plate every 10 years according to Florida law, and your ongoing $25 fee will still support scholarships at Florida Atlantic.
Registration renewal begins 3 months before the registrant’s date of birth. This is the ideal time to switch your plate.
If you just renewed your plate or if you are on a multi-year renewal cycle, you can still switch over to the new Florida Atlantic license plate once it is available. You will be charged for the new plate, usage fee for the plate and processing fee (additional fees may apply). License plate registrations are not prorated.
In Florida, all license plates are required to be replaced every 10 years.
