In Memory of Dr. Eric H. Shaw

Eric Shaw, Ph.D., a cherished professor, mentor, and alumnus, passed away on April 12, 2025, after more than five decades of service to Florida Atlantic University. He held many leadership roles over the years, including chair of the Marketing Department, president of the Faculty Senate, and member of the Board of Trustees. Even after retiring, he continued to mentor students, publish research, and serve on university committees. His legacy is defined by extraordinary generosity — most notably, a $3 million estate gift establishing student excellence awards and the Dr. Eric H. Shaw Distinguished Professor of Marketing. Dr. Shaw dedicated his life to uplifting others through education, and his impact will continue to shape this community for years to come.
