In addition to being a visionary philanthropist and devoted family matriarch, Phyllis Sandler was an avid believer in the power of social workers to change our world for the better, and she recognized and celebrated the tremendous role they play in society. Phyllis launched the Phyllis Sandler Heart of Social Work in 2010 to celebrate the social work profession, honor the impact social workers have in our communities, and raise much-needed funds to support scholarships for students in the Phyllis and Harvey Sandler School of Social Work.
