The Floyd Scholars Fund is about building a community of scholars who are both mentored and pledge to “pass it on” by mentoring others. By providing funds for research and mentorship, the program ensures that the lack of financial resources will not be a barrier for students who want to be engaged with research scholars and leaders. It is the program’s goal to provide mentoring opportunities for students, and an opportunity in the future for Floyd Scholars to contribute back to the program by serving as mentors. Each Floyd Scholar is mentored by outstanding research scholars and leaders in colleges and universities.
The Floyd Scholars program invites your investment through time, expertise and funding opportunities. A gift of $1500 will help send a Floyd Scholar to a research conference for mentoring. Larger gifts will provide valuable support for their research and mentoring. All gifts to the Floyd Scholars Fund, no matter the amount, are gratefully appreciated.
During this inaugural phase, a donor who contributes a minimum of $1,000 by December 31, 2025, will be recognized as a Founder. Donors may designate their gifts for current use (immediate impact) or as an endowment (invested for long term growth).
