Dr. Anthony J. Amato Scholarship for Future Educators Fund

The FAU College of Education invites you to support the Dr. Anthony J. Amato Scholarship for Future Educators.

This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate or graduate students who are majoring in education, with a preference for reading education. It is awarded to those students who have demonstrated financial need, with a preference to students who are first-generation in college.

This scholarship honors Dr. Anthony Joseph Amato, who was a beloved professor at Temple University, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Hawaii. His academic area of expertise was early education, especially research related to creative ways to get young students interested in the lifelong pursuit of reading. His interest and focus were in finding the keys to unlock a love of reading in children to help them better understand their own lives and to learn about the world around them, no matter their backgrounds.
