Planned gifts are sometimes referred to as "stop-and-think" gifts because they require some planning and often, help from your professional advisors. Unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and come to fruition upon your death.

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees.
A gift in kind is a good or service given as a charitable gift. The IRS requires the donor to determine the fair market value of the gift for tax reporting purposes.
FAU faculty and staff can take advantage of fulfilling their gifts by deducting a set amount from their paychecks. If you are interested in making a gift through payroll deduction, click on the True Blue tab in MyFAU.
Stocks and securities are often among the most valuable assets you own—and they can carry substantial capital gain, or appreciation in value. With careful planning, you can reduce or even eliminate federal capital gains tax while supporting FAU.
Gifts do not have to be made in a lump sum. You can opt to make a gift in installments. You can make payments on the gift either weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually.
You can make a recurring gift by check, money order, credit card or debit card.
A pledge allows you to be flexible in fulfilling your gift. You can pay the pledge in installments of your choosing.
