Since March 2021, Ilyse Wertheim has served as Controller of the FAU Foundation, Inc. With over thirty years of accounting, finance, and audit experience in both the public and private sectors, Ilyse joined FAU in November 2015 as Associate Controller in Florida Atlantic University’s Division of Financial Affairs. As Associate Controller, she was responsible for financial reporting, treasury services, and supplier onboarding. During her tenure as Associate Controller, she also led general accounting and property management.

Prior to joining FAU, Ilyse served as Chief Financial Officer for Fresh Meal Plan, LLC, a retail food service production and delivery start-up company in Boca Raton, FL. Prior to joining Fresh Meal Plan and for more than seventeen years, Ilyse worked in automotive retail for AutoNation, Inc. where she held various director level financial/operations/business partner roles as the Director of IT/Payroll/Purchasing Finance Operations as well as the Director of Marketing Finance Operations. Prior to AutoNation, Inc., Ilyse served as an Accounting Manager for Sensormatic’s Commerical/Industrial division responsible for accounting consolidation and the Corporate Controller for The Panda Project, Inc., a high-tech start-up engaged in proprietary technology, R&D, and computer manufacturing.

Ilyse’s career began as an auditor in public accounting working for PwC (formerly Price Waterhouse) and for the State of Florida’s Auditor General.
Ms. Wertheim is certified as a CPA in both Florida and New York State with active CPA licenses and holds the designation of CGMA. She is also a member of the AICPA and FICPA.
