Lara Kittelson joined FAU in 2023 as the School Certifying Official for the Military and Veterans Student Success Center. Shortly after she joined the Division of Institutional Advancement in October 2024 as the Coordinator of Presidential and Advancement Events.
Prior to FAU, she started her career at the U.S. State Department at the U.S. Embassy Nassau, The Bahamas. She worked in the executive office, assisting international conferences and events that supported the U.S. mission.
Lara’s love for working with the federal government led her to work with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. as the Senior Events Coordinator. While at the FTC, she coordinated events with different agencies, including The White House, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Department of Justice. The highlight of her time at the FTC was when she was personally recognized for her hard work and dedication by former President Barack Obama. When not working, Lara loves to travel, learn about new cultures and teach her young children how to create a great party.
