Florida Atlantic University received a gift commitment of $2.6 million from Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach for the renovation and expansion of the Hillel space within the S.E. Wimberly Library on the Boca Raton campus. Plans for the new space include a modernized area to study, learn, socialize, host events – including large Shabbat dinners – a secured main entrance, and an outdoor covered seating area to accommodate additional programming for the benefit of students, alumni, and the community.

An internationally collaborative study by Florida Atlantic University and led by the University of Tübingen in Germany, delves into how fluctuating rainfall impacts the development of sea turtle hatchlings. The research, which spans data from 37 beaches worldwide, including Boca Raton, shows that precipitation plays a crucial role in determining hatchling body size.

Florida Atlantic University was recently selected to participate in the National Academy of Medicine’s (NAM) Action Collaborative on Combatting Substance Use Opioid Crises Core Competency Implementation Pilot Project. Armiel Suriaga, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, will serve as the project lead. Florida Atlantic joins other implementation sites across the United States in working toward advancing substance use care, workforce competency, and interprofessional education and practice.

The beer debuted in athletic venues, including FAU Stadium, and is sold in select retail locations across the tri-county area.
