Florida Atlantic University has earned a place among the nation’s top 100 public universities in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings, rising to No. 100 from No. 103 last year. Florida Atlantic also advanced in key measures of student success, ranking No. 30 in Social Mobility and No. 25 nationally for Pell Grant Graduation Performance — recognitions that highlight the university’s commitment to student success.

FAU Receives $1.6M Gift from Bob Schattner for Student Entrepreneur Scholarships

Florida Atlantic University received a $1.6 million gift from long-time Boca Raton resident Bob Schattner, which will be used to continue providing scholarships in perpetuity that he established 15 years ago. Schattner established the Robert L. Schattner Entrepreneurial Scholarship in Business in 2010 to support students with financial need who have taken at least one entrepreneur class and who may start their own companies one day. He also established a separate fund to aid students who face life challenges that could derail their pursuit of higher education.

The Florida Atlantic University's men's basketball team has unveiled its 2025–26 American Athletic Conference schedule, with the first conference game set for Wednesday, December 31, against UTSA at the Eleanor R. Baldwin arena. The 2026 American Athletic Conference Championships will take place in Birmingham, Alabama, at Legacy Arena at the BJCC from March 11-15.
