Florida Atlantic celebrated its largest graduating class in history as 3,600 students received degrees this month. Members of the spring Class of 2024 ranged from 17 to 73 years old, and one-third of graduates were the first in their families to earn a college degree. The Charles E. The Henry Morrison Flagler Scholarship Program, created by The William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust, supports exceptional undergraduate students of the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University. In addition to tuition and housing support, the Flagler scholarship also supports travel, research, internships, and service-learning opportunities. Flagler scholars have gone on to become lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and more.

Three Florida Atlantic researchers at the forefront of Alzheimer’s disease research have each received a $350,000 grant from the Florida Department of Health to investigate the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, care management and cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Congratulations to the Florida Atlantic Women’s Softball team for making history and becoming the first American Athletic Conference champions in school history. The Owls closed the regular season with a record of 41-13 and have punched their ticket to the postseason. The Women’s Softball team is traveling to Gainesville for the regional round, and you can watch their next game on Friday, May 17 at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
