Celebrating the 30-Year Legacy of Dorothy F. Schmidt

The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters hosted its annual Culture, Arts and Society Today (CAST) Party, commemorating the 30th anniversary of its naming while supporting student scholarships. It was an evening to remember as we honored the Schmidt family and the Schmidt Family Foundation, Myrna Gordon Skurnick and BrandStar for their tremendous contributions to the College and the arts.

New Research Helps Detect Cognitive Change in Older Drivers

Nursing, engineering and neuropsychology researchers at Florida Atlantic University are testing and evaluating a readily and rapidly available, unobtrusive in-vehicle sensing system. A series of cameras can identify abnormal driving, such as getting lost, ignoring traffic signals and signs, near-collision events, distraction and drowsiness, reaction time and braking patterns.
