Florida Atlantic Awarded $6M Grant to Expand Marcus Institute of Integrative Health

Florida Atlantic has received a $6 million grant from the late Bernie Marcus, founder of The Home Depot, through his charitable organization, The Marcus Foundation. The grant will expand the scope and services of FAU Medicine’s Marcus Institute of Integrative Health. To date, Bernie Marcus and The Marcus Foundation have contributed more than $10 million in support of integrative health to the University. Florida Atlantic is incredibly grateful for the generosity of Bernie Marcus and The Marcus Foundation, and is saddened by his recent loss.

Florida Atlantic, Flagler Credit Union Announce Football Stadium Naming Partnership

As the result of a historic, 15-year football stadium naming partnership, FAU Stadium will now be recognized as Flagler Credit Union Stadium. As part of this agreement, Flagler Credit Union will become the official credit union of Florida Atlantic Athletics and Florida Atlantic Alumni in 2025. The term and value of the naming rights deal is the largest corporate sponsorship in the American Athletic Conference for a football stadium and among the largest in the Group of Five conferences, which includes the AAC, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West and Sun Belt.

Florida Atlantic Receives Significant Gift to Support the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards

The School of Environmental, Coastal, and Ocean Sustainability (ECOS) at Florida Atlantic received a significant gift from Wayne and Lucretia Weiner. The gift will enhance environmental programs and aims to build the next generation of environmental scientists, leaders, and problem solvers through student support. It establishes several scholarships, paid internships, research stipends, a Professor-in-Residence program, three faculty mentors and two staff advisor positions, and will also provide programmatic support for the Semester by the Sea program at Florida Atlantic’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. This transformative gift enhances ECOS and creates opportunities for students dedicated to the environment and a more sustainable South Florida.

Florida Atlantic Announces Additional Hagerty Family Gift

Michelle and Michael Hagerty recently made another significant gift commitment to further support the Owls’ Hagerty Athletics Village. This most recent contribution, which supplements the Hagerty’s initial transformational gift to the Hagerty Athletics Village complex in December of 2022, is earmarked to further support facility renovations and upgrades within the village.

Congratulations, Class of 2024!

Florida Atlantic celebrated its latest graduating class with more than 2,700 students receiving degrees this fall. Members of this class represent 25 countries, 525 are active duty or military veterans, and approximately 400 are first-generation graduates. Our fall graduates ranged in age from 17 to 82 years old. Congratulations to our newest Owl graduates!

Zach Kittley has been named Florida Atlantic's Hagerty Family Head Football Coach. One of the brightest and most innovative offensive minds in college football, Kittley comes to Boca Raton after three seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas Tech.
