
Rita Ashkar
Rita Ashkar is a Graduate Student Worker within Advancement Services, as well as a Ph.D. student in Leadership and Research Methodology at the College of Education. She is assisting the Associate Director of Information Technology with categorizing fund purposes, organizing and other duties to allow for proper reporting of the Institutional Advancement database.
Rita joined FAU after 15 years in business as a company owner overseas. She also worked as a paralegal assistant for four years for President Kamel Al Assaad, the Parliament Speaker of Lebanon. In Florida, Rita worked as an executive assistant at Fortress Capital, Inc. She also completed 1,000 hours of internship as a counselor at Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) after completing her counseling degree at FAU. Rita is an instructor at the Palm Beach School District, teaching adults French and Arabic language skills. She also serves as a mentor to undergraduate students at FAU. Rita contributes to research publications and gives presentations at professional conferences. She serves as County Chair Leader for Lebanon and Dubai at the International Association of Psychology and Counseling (IAPC).
