Established in 1989 by the friends and family of Mr. Thomas Nelligan to honor his love of the ocean and sea turtles, this fund supports the FAU Sea Turtle Research program. Contributions have funded more than 40 research projects with findings and recommendations shared in professional publications, scientific journals, community presentations, and public exhibits.
Conservation and management policies and local and global actions integrate the significant findings funded by this critical research. FAU students and faculty working on marine turtle studies make a difference through careers in conservation, marine environmental management, sea turtle biology, and public environmental education. Through your generosity to this memorial fund, FAU will develop future marine scientists who will impact society by integrating innovation, scholarship, and creativity into their research endeavors.
