Senior Class Gift: Frequently Asked Questions

All donors graduating in Spring 2017 will be invited to attend the Senior Class Gift Donor Reception on April 27 to receive their cord. This event will take place from 5 to 6:30pm. If you made a class gift, you will receive your invitation via email. If you are unable to attend, more details about where and when to pick up your cord will be available soon.

If someone would like to make the donation on your behalf, they are welcome to do so. They can make a donation online by visiting or they can make a check out to the FAU Foundation indicating “Senior Class Gift for _________ (Student’s Name)” on the memo line. All checks can be mailed to 777 Glades Rd, ADM 295, Boca Raton, FL 33431.

As a token of our appreciation for your support, all Class Gift donors will receive a True Blue cord. We estimate the value of this cord to be $3.80. Thus, we are required to report that your official gift amount is $16.37 to the Senior Class Gift Fund Scholarship.

The Office of Annual Giving within the Division of Institutional Advancement is leading all efforts of the Senior Class Gift Campaign and True Blue cord. All gifts are being directed to the Senior Class Gift Scholarship Fund. This fund was established to support students whose only hurdle to graduating is a financial one. If you or someone you know is interested in applying, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

You are more than welcome to wear additional cords on the day of your graduation. The point of the True Blue cord is not to take away from any existing honors but to symbolize your commitment to supporting your alma mater after having a memorable FAU experience.

If you are graduating in the following semester, you are more than welcome to make your class gift now. However, we recommend that you wait until it gets closer to your graduation – that way you can receive all of your graduation regalia at one time.

If you have any additional questions about the True Blue cord, please don’t hesitate to contact us at or at 561-297-0965.
